Words are a Miracle
Go back before the dawn of civilization, when we lived in caves or the flatlands. During a time when language was yet to be born. We grunted, used hand signals, maybe we had sounds that expressed emotion — but they were not words as we know them today. We worked in small groups, as social creatures hunting animals and gathering berries and vegatation, trying to provide for our young, for our partners, our tribe.
Fast forward to the present day. We are saturated in language. From social media to Medium articles to buzz words hawked at us from media outlets. Language is spinning around us at a rate that blurs reality, sometimes it’s mind-boggling. It’s how we communuicate, express what we want, or do not want. Language is what makes us social, what connects us to one person or many.
From our prehistoric days to now, there is no doubt language is what makes us social beings. Words are a miracle.
